Joji completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of Pretoria with specialisation in Zoology and Ecology. She participated in the Richards Bay Dune Rehabilitation Project, the protocol development on elephant population in the Kruger National Park, and various other conservation projects.
Following this, Joji then completed her medical studies and dedicated over 15 years to aviation medicine. This included both on-the-ground work and the logistics coordination of mercy flights throughout Africa, the surrounding islands and international medical repatriations. She has also contributed her time to practicing medicine in deep rural settings within South Africa.
In 2016, Joji obtained her PhD and has held the position of Associate Professor at the University of Pretoria in the School of Medicine since 2019.
