April is an Australian communications professional who has established strong and effective networks through her work in a range of sectors. They include government, diplomacy, international relations, sustainable business, Not-For-Profit, Australian and foreign media, industry, and the arts. April brings those networks and also her exceptional negotiation skills to the Foundation, where she will play a major role in developing the Foundation’s connections and channels of support that will ensure outcomes for projects through the strong partnerships that she will help to establish.
She has managed stakeholder relations, communications, events, sponsorships, memberships, and marketing and she has held roles as international public affairs adviser, media adviser and campaign manager, as well as a journalist, editor and marketing manager for various magazines. In the Australian government service, she was responsible for official foreign media visits programs in Australia and also had roles overseas on postings, managing Australia’s public affairs programs in Latin America, Europe and Asia.
In Australia and overseas, she has organized large-scale national events, managed budgets, publicity campaigns, including websites, social media, digital marketing systems. She has also worked on and been elected to committees and boards, including as Secretary of the Foreign Correspondents’ Association (Australia & South Pacific), and as Chair of Sydney’s Northside Broadcasting Co-operative.
